Ashtbhuja Temple

Category Religious

‘Bhagwati Ashtabhuja’ is the direct incarnation of Mahasaraswati. Her abode is situated on the highest peak of the Vindhya mountains. According to mythological beliefs, when Kansa tried to kill the eighth child of Devaki, the girl slipped from his hands, vanished into the sky, and appeared on this very mountain peak in the form of Ashtabhuja Devi. This is the third and final major stop in the Trikon Parikrama of Vindhyachal (Vindhyavasini, Kali Khoh, and Ashtabhuja). From the Ashtabhuja hill, one can see a breathtaking panoramic view of the holy river Ganga, which fills devotees with spiritual joy. The ‘Paatal Puri’ cave and ‘Sita Kund’ located here hold great religious significance. Worshiping this form of the Mother grants devotees knowledge, wisdom, and salvation.
